From 1 July, five new Australian Marine Park management plans came into effect, creating new rules for where fishing can occur in 44 marine parks around Australia.
The Department of Environment undertook a mail out to WA Fishing Boat Licence holders affected. Please also find below links to their cover letter, factsheet and two class approvals of relevance to WA fishers – for the South-West Network and North-West Network of Marine Parks.
All commercial fishers who currently fish, or intend to fish, within these areas need to be aware of the new management arrangements.
