While the severe weather unfortunately led to the cancellation of this year’s WA Day Festival celebrations at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour, there was still a silver lining for seafood lovers.

With public safety rightly taking priority, Western Rock Lobster redirected the fresh lobsters originally prepared for the festival into a special Back of Boat activation, giving the community the opportunity to purchase premium Western Rock Lobster direct from the source. The response was overwhelming, with the lobsters selling out quickly as locals embraced the chance to take home one of Western Australia’s most iconic seafoods.

Although we missed the opportunity to celebrate together at the harbour, it was fantastic to see such strong community support and enthusiasm for Western Rock Lobster. A huge thank you to everyone who pre-ordered and visited the activation, helping to turn a disappointing cancellation into a successful day for WA seafood.

We look forward to bringing more opportunities for the community to connect with the fishery, meet the people behind the industry and enjoy Western Rock Lobster at its freshest in the future.
