Development Education Capacity Knowledge (DECK) Program –
An In-depth Professional Development Opportunity
The DECK Program is designed to offer comprehensive professional development and learning opportunities for all members of the Western rock lobster industry. Through a series of interactive sessions, the program aims to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in key areas such as resource management, industry representation, and small business operations.
Participants will engage with industry experts, explore innovations, and build networks through a variety of workshops and discussions. Additionally, the program features a social dinner, providing a relaxed setting for participants to connect and share ideas with peers, Board members, industry experts and guest speakers. DECK is dedicated to fostering a vibrant community of professionals committed to advancing the Western Rock Lobster industry.

The DECK Program is open to all WRL members, skippers, deckhands and commercial fishers.
It is designed for anyone interested in developing their expertise in resource management and small business operations specific to the Western rock lobster industry.

DECK Program in 2026 will take place in Geraldton on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd October at the Geraldton Yacht Club.

What to Expect at the DECK Program?
The forums are held over two half days with participants, guest speakers, WRL Board Members and key fisheries representatives enjoying a social dinner between the sessions.
