WRL Expands Board of Directors, Appointing Two New Independent Directors

We are pleased to announce that after a comprehensive and competitive recruitment process, Sophie Raven and Bradley Gannon have joined the WRL Board as Independent Directors. Sophie and Bradley will play a vital role in instilling governance knowledge in board procedure and a professional culture that aligns with the strategic direction and goals of WRL.

 

Sophie is an experienced corporate lawyer, company secretary and non executive director, with over twenty-five years’ corporate and commercial experience both in Australia and Internationally (South America, the Caribbean and Europe). Sophie has multi-sector experience, including manufacturing, resources, technology and agribusiness in both Australia (having worked with a large pork and lamb producer) and Chile (having acted as legal counsel for US and NZ seafood producers).

She has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, having previously sat on a number of ASX-listed company, not-for-profit and charitable organisation boards. In her spare time, Sophie is a mother of three teenage girls, and enjoys tennis, the beach, walking and reading.

 

Bradley is an experienced director, executive, governance and risk management professional. He has a demonstrated history of helping to drive innovation and transformation, designing effective strategy and governance standards inspiring others to perform at their best and delivering superior results for ultimate member benefit. Bradley has a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law (with Honours).

In addition to this, Bradley is a graduate from both the Australian Institute of Company Directors (Order of Merit) and Governance Institute of Australia (GIA). Bradley was the recipient of GIA’s Ian Falconer award for Top Graduating Student August 2011. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School. Bradley’s current role is CEO Automotive of Capricorn Society Ltd, Australia and New Zealand’s largest automotive parts buying co-operative with over 24,000 Members and purchases exceeding over $2.58 billion last financial year. Bradley is also a Director of various Capricorn subsidiary companies and a State Councillor of the Governance Institute of Australia.

In his personal time, Bradley is actively involved with family and friends including his wife, Linda and children Brendan and Jessica helping with football and tennis coaching. When not engaging in these, Bradley finds the time to exercise, likes to read and enjoys a good meal and movie.
