WRL adopts a rigorous process in setting Total Allowable Commercial Catch (TACC). Part of the information considered by the TACC Committee is the Global Markets and Trade Report, generated by WRL’s economist as part of the program 2022-060 Understanding the Economics and Markets of the Western Rock Lobster industry which is funded through WRL’s Industry Partnership Agreement with the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC).

The report provides an overview of global lobster production and international trade, with a focus on the international customers and competitors for Western Rock Lobster. It is intended that this report supports informed decision making within industry, as well as influencing future research priorities.
