We are pleased to announce that Salena Loasby has joined the Western Rock Lobster Council as our new Executive Officer. With qualifications in business and finance, Salena brings a wealth of experience from diverse industries, including mining, construction, and law.
In her role, Salena will work closely with the CEO, providing crucial support for board and committee meetings, overseeing projects and programs within the WRL IPA, and maintaining key industry partnerships.
Prior to joining WRL, Salena spent several years as a Client Relationship Manager for a Sydney law firm and also ran her own professional services business in media and the arts. While the law and the arts are vastly different industries, Salena observes they share a common theme – one she takes seriously: to provide excellent personal service, listening to clients’ needs and ensuring they are met, and often exceeded.
Salena’s diverse experience, including in mining and construction, combined with her qualifications in business, finance, and marketing, positions her well to contribute to WRL. She is eager to represent us in her new role within our industry.
Salena feels a strong connection to the area and waters, being close to her late Dad who was in the British Merchant Navy. She fondly remembers prawning and fishing with him as a young immigrant family to WA. Outside of work, Salena enjoys spending time with her two young nieces. She moved to Fremantle several years ago to live nearby to them. Salena loves to travel, especially to Italy, and spends time with her partner Clayton and his two children.
