In late 2025, fishing sector peak body funding agreements with the Hon Minister for Fisheries were extended to 30 June 2026.

WRL have had preliminary discussions with DPIRD and the Minister’s office about a new service level agreement for future funding which must be finalised early this year.

WRL are well placed to provide a high level of services to industry and the state and are currently assembling information to inform the negotiation process.

An update on progress will be provided at the Annual Management Meeting Industry Forums in early March.
